Manufacture Process: Smooth nails are taken and partially spiral threaded, leaving a portion of the shank smooth just below the head.
Advantages:
- Quick penetrating turning as they are driven into the wood, reducing the risks of splitting and splintering.
- Good holding power. Spiral threaded nails driven through two pieces of wood act like a nut and bolt.
